Here in this post we share tips to get bargains in general:
1) Look for non premium sizes: As discussed in the previous posts size like 1 carat, 0.50 carat, 0.60 carat or 1.5 carat or 2 carat are premium. Look for sizes like 0.95 or 0.57 carat to gain from human idiosyncrasies.
2) Look for better cut : Diamond pricing depends a lot on the visible factor too. So if a diamond looks better, no matter what its grading it is a good deal. One way to identify a good dimaond is going for a TRIPLE-EX which is CUT, POLISH and SYMMETRY all being Excellent. Well there is a premium to triple EXes but you can neutralize that by going for a clarity step down. SO for instance if you are looking for VS1 go for VS2 or VS2 then go for SI1. But going too far down on the clarity scale is not recommended. So the gain in going 1 step down in clarity is more than going for all EXes.
3) A litle bit of fluorescence isnt so bad. Dont always look for NONE fluorescence. A SLIGHT or FAINT fluorescence can save you a lot of money while not affecting the diamond looks as much.
4) Diamond of upto size 0.60 Carats are literally immune to clarity so for a F,G,H color shade you can go upto I1 clarity also.
5) Try Fancy shapes: Fancy shapes like princess, emerald, oval, heart, asscher, radiant, pear, marquise come at a discount as compared to round brilliant cut.
Hope these tips help you save money and make your search for that 1 diamond a lot easier.
After all you now have the E=MC2 equivalent to the diamond search in your hands.
A word of caution: Going for uncertified diamonds is a self rip-off. Please dont do that to yourself.
